Read the Petition of the Inhabitants of the Upper part of West-
minster Parish in Ann Arundel County and the Petition of the
Vestrymen Churchwardens and Sundry Parishioners of S.' Mar-
garets Westminster Parish in Ann Arundel County praying a Bill
for building a Chappel in the Said Parish
Two Engrossed Bills from the Lower House by Col.o Tilghman
and M.r Dent Viz. An Act for giving a Bounty for taking Indian
Prisoners and other purposes therein Mentioned and An Act for
Prohibiting all Trade with the Indians for the time therein men-
tioned, thus Subscribed
Read & assented to by the Lower House of Assembly 27. Oct.r
1763

Read the Second time the Bill Entituled An Act for the Advance-
ment of Justice and with the following Amendments will pass 2.d
Page 5.th Line from the Bottom leave out the Words to plead to
issue the first Court and so to the End of that page and instead
thereof insert the following Words to proceed to tryal the same
Court and if Def.th shall refuse or neglect to Answer or plead to
render Judgment for the Plantiff with Cost of Suit unless Sufficient
Cause be shewn by the Defend.t why there should be an Impartance
after the Word dispute, in the 2d Line of 3d Page instead of the
Words shall not exceed the Sum of Twenty Pounds Sterling Money
or five thousand Pounds of Tobacco Insert the following Words
Viz.t is not of Sufficient Value to run the Same into Chancery, after
the Words have in 4th. Line of 4th. Page insert the following
Words Viz.t in his own Name as Assignee after the Word had in
6th. Line of 4th Page insert the following Words, Viz.t the said
assignment being first recorded in the same Court wherein the
Judgment shall have been rendered or obtained and in 6th Line from
the Bottom of the same Page before Proceeding put equitable Course
or after the Word mentioned in 5th. Line of 5th Page insert the
following Words in Case the said assignee hath not been nor shall
be a Surety in the Bond or obligation assigned to him as aforesaid
after the Word assignee in the loth Line of the Same Page insert
