On Motion, Ordered, That an Address be prepared, to be pre-
sented to his Excellency, in Answer to his Message of this Day;
and that Mr. Edward Tilghman and Mr. Hammond do prepare and
bring in the same.

Mr. Hammond brings in and delivers to Mr. Speaker, an Address
to his Excellency; which was Read the first and second Time, and
Approved of, and Ordered to be Ingrossed.
The House proceeds to the further Hearing of the Petition of
the Freeholders and other Voters of Calvert County, and Dismissed
the same with Costs.
Mr. Edward Tilghman brings in and delivres to Mr. Speaker, the
following Ingrossed Address:

To his Excellency Horatio Sharpe, Esq; Governor and Commander
in Chief in and over the Province of Maryland.
The humble Address of the House of Delegates.
May it please your Excellency,
This House being willing to embrace every Opportunity of Testi-
fying their Loyalty and Gratitude to the Best of Kings, think proper
to acquaint you, that in Compliance with the Requisition contained
in the Earl of Egremont's and Sir Jeffery Amherst's Letters, which
your Excellency has been pleased to lay before us, we have come to
the following Resolves, viz.
Resolved, That Eighty-four Men be raised as the Quota of this
Province, for compleating the Regular Corps in North-America,
agreeable to the Requisition contained in the Earl of Egremont's
and Sir Jeffery Amherst's Letters, by his Excellency this Day laid
before this House.
Resolved, That Eight Pounds Bounty Money per Man be given
to each Man of the Ages mentioned in Sir Jeffery Amherst's said
Letter, who shall be Enlisted for the Purposes aforesaid.
Resolved, That Twenty Shillings per Man be given to the Officer,
who shall be employed in Enlisting the said Men.
Resolved, That a Sum sufficient for the Purposes aforesaid, be
appropriated out of the Grant for His Majesty's Service, to be made
by the Supply Bill now preparing by this House.
Which was Read and Assented to, and Signed, by Order of the
House, by the Honourable Speaker.
The House adjourns till the Morrow Morning 9 of the Clock.

Thursday, April 1, 1762.

The House met according to Adjournment. The Members were
called, and all appeared as Yesterday. The Proceedings were Read.
Ordered, That Mr. Lee and Mr. Plater do acquaint his Excellency,
That this House hath prepared an Address, to be presented to him,
