Somerset County Court Proceedings, 1665 1668. 711 Allexander Draper was this day sworne Constable of Anamessick Liber B No. I hundred David Spence was this day sworne Constable of wiccocomoco hundred At A Court heild for the Countie of Sommersett in the Province of [p. 115] Maryland the 30th day of June A° D° r668 Comrs Present vizt Mr Steven Horssi mr William Stevens mr John Winder mr James Jones rnr Henry Boston Whereas Thomas Manloue & Jane his wife preferred a peticon agst Robt Cattling executr in trust of Wilt Boyse deceased they al leadging that there is due to them foure thousand forty eight pounds of tobacco Thomas Manloue plt Rout Cattling deft appeare now in Court After some debate the Court orders that the hearing of that Cause be referred to the Next Courte At A Court helld for the Countie of Soffiersett in the Province of Maryland the 30th day of June A° D° 1668 Comrs Present, vizt; Mr Steven Horssi mr William Stevens mr John Winder mr James Jones mr Henry Boston Whereas Christopher Nutter prferred a peticon agst Richard Britaine alleadging that the Said Richard Britaine had cast him in two sutes Comenced agst yor petjcionr for want of evidences there fore desired A rehearing alleadging he was now provided with the testimony of honest men that he had performed his bargaine with the Said Richard Britaine before the sd Britaine had Comenced Sute Christopher Nutter plt appeare now in Court Richard Britaine def After some debate the Court orders that the hearing of that Cause be referred to the Next Court At A Court helld for the Countie of Somersett in the Province of Maryland the 30th day of June A° D° 1668 Comrs prsent vizt mr Steven Horssi mr John Winder mr William Stevens mr Henry Boston Whereas John Meech prf erred a peticon agst James Jones alleadg ing tht there is tobacco due to him John Meech plt appeare now in Courte James Jones def |
