    Ordered that the Jury of Enquest meete at the house of Tho Poole LiberB No. 1
  the 26th December next & that those Constables wth were absent from [p.41]
  the Court this day be summoned before the Jury then; the parties
  absent were Nicolas Rice & John Hilliard

    Ordered that Morris Lisston be summoned to appeare before the
  Court the Last tuesday in January next to answer A Contempt made
  against the Court this day

       27th November 1666

    The bonds of Matrimoney was this day published (betweene Wil
  liam Greene & Elyzabeth Manloue both of Pocomoke as alsoe be
  tweene Cornelius Ward & Margarett Frankling both of Anamessicke
  as alsoe betweene Robert Dorman & Elyzabeth Knight both of
  Manonoakin as alsoe betweene Anthony Taylor and Alce Basset both
  of Anamessicke) by setting up their names at the Court house the
  time of the Court setting according to act of assembly

  At A Court held the 27th November 1666 for the Countie of
     Somersett in the province of Maryland present

                   Mr William Stevens
         Capt: William Thorne   mr Henry Boston
         mr John Winder    mr George Johnson

    Whereas Randall Revell prferred a peticon agst Phillip Barre
  wherein he Complained that the said Phillip Barre had in a most
  scandelous Manner villified slandered & defamed yor peticioner in
  givinge out tht yor peticioner hath killed or Caused to be killed A
  barrowe of his after some debate the plantiffe Craved A Jury where
  upon the Court ordered A Jury to be Impanelled wch were returned
  by the Sherriffe & sworne vizt:

Thomas Walley Foreman        John Manloue
       Richard Whitty      Daniell Curtis
       Thomas Tull         William Jones
       Henry Lewis         Nehemiah Covington
       Patrick Fleming     Edward Dickeson
       Saunder Mitcheller  John Wailer

  who gaue in their verdict as Followe, vizt,
    wee of the Jury having pused a Cause depending betweene mr
  Randall Revell the plantiffe & Phillip Barre defendt according to lawe
  & equity doe finde the aforesaid Barre to be guilty of a slander; then
  & therefore the said Jury doe Condiscend & agree that the aforesaid
  Barre shall for his slaunder Comitted the said Barre shall upon his
  knees acknoweledge his selfe Culpable of the false accusation now
  layd upon the aforesaid Revell & with Cost of sute according to Lawe
  pay all Dammages:





        Ordered that the Juryes virdict be entred
