No.2 his Tobacco.
The Court haue granted an order against the Estate of the said
Jenkins for the said debt.

To the Worshipfull Commissioners for Talbott County the humble
petition of Samll Winsloe.
Shewith That mr John Vickeris had of yor petitioner goods to the
vallew of Seven hundred pounds of Tobacco and Cask, and Refus
seth payment thereof; the premisses Considered your petitioner hum
bly Craueth Order for his Tobaccos with Cost of suite and your
petitioner Shall Ever pray
The deft produced A noat from mr Winsloe and withall three
depossions an accompt of Seven hundred Thirty flue pounds of
Tobacco to Ballance with the planff
Mr Vicaris mr Thomas Vaughan did desire mee to send you word
that the master of the vessell Intends to pay the Tobacco due to
you upon the seamens upon the Island I supposs you will see him
att your house; the things promissed you shall be Left att mr Mor
gans if the mr doe desire upon any accott Tobacco to satisfie you,
upon his or your request I shall pay it yours to Command.

November the 17th 1666/
This day John Copper aged Thirty flue yeares or there abouts
being by Lawfull summons by mr John Vicares did then and there
upon the Holly Evangelests of Almighty God declare that the Last
yeare about the begining of January mr Samuel Winsloe, and mr
John Vicares did to the best of this deponants knowlidge flrmely
agree that the said Winsloe was to pay all such Charges as were
made and did accrew by A suite depending betweene mr Nathanell
Clarke master of the Tryall of plymouth in New England Joseph
Bennett and Malchissidick Bennett and my self e then present; and
upon these Condition wee went on board with the said Winsloe to
perform our Labour and further Saith Nott Jno Cooper

Further John Cooper declareth that being sent by mr Vicares to
mr Morgans house for A Barill of Mackerill and A quantity of suger
with order to oppen them, and when that he had opened them the
[p. 69] pickell was all run outt, and about Three Quarters of the Barill was
Rotten and the rest much spoyled and further saith nott.
