354Talbot County Court Proceedings, 1662-1674. Liber BB donn Wee haue allsoe Constituted and Ordained You and Euery No.2 fowre or more of you (of which you the said Richard Woleman William Coursey Philemon Lloyd and Thomas South unlest one of our Councell be present are allways to be one) to be Commis sioners to enquier by the oaths of good & Lawfull men of yor County afor[worn] of all Mannor of Felonys Wichcrafts enchantments Sorcerys Magicke Arts Trespasses forestallings Ingrosings and Ex tortions Whatsoeü and of all and Singular Misd[worn] and off ences of which Justices of the Peace England may or ought Lawfully to enquier by whomsoeü or whensoeü done and Perpetrated Or which hereafter shall happen to be done and Perpetrated in the County afforesaid against the Lawes and orders of this Our Prouince Pro uided that you pseed not in any the Cases a fore said to take Life or Member But that in euery such Case you Send the Prisoners with their Inditements and whole matter dependinge before you to the next Prouincial Courtt to be houlden for this Our Province when [p. 2] socu [worn] To be houlden there to bc tryed And further we doe hereby Autherize to Isue writts Prosses Arreast and attachments to hould Plea of here and Determine and According to the lawe Orders And Reasonable Customes within this Our Province after Judgmt Execution to award in all Cause Ciuell whether in acoOn Real or personall where the thinge in accãn doth not exseed the vallue of three Thousand pounds of Tobacoes in which Causes Ciuill to be tryed wee doe Constitute Ordaine and appointe you the said Richard Woleman William Coursey Philemon Lloyd and Thomas South to be Judges as aforesaid unlesse some one of Our Councell be then in Courtt and therefore wee Commaind you that you Deligently intend the keepinge of the Peace Lawes and orders and all and Singular other the primisses And att Certaine Days Appointed Accordinge to Acte of Assembly in that Case Provided in Such Places which you or any fowre or more of you as afore said Shall in that behalfe Ap point you make enquireys uppon the Primisses And performe and fullfill the same in forme Afore Said doeing therein what to Justices Appertaineth According to the Lawes Orders and Reasonable Cus toms of this Our Province Saueinge the Amercements and other thinges thereof unto us belonginge And Therefore Wee Comainnd the sheriffe of the said County By vertue of these Presents that at the days and Places a fore said which you or any such foure or more of you as aforesd Shall make Knowne unto him to giue his attendance on you, and if Need Requier to Cause to Come before you or Any such foure or more of you as afore said such and soc many good and Lawfull men of yor County By whom the truth in the primisses may the Beter be knowne and enquiered of, And Lastly wee haue appointed William Homsley Clarke and keepper of the Records & Proseedings In this yor County Courtt and therefore you shall Cause to be brought before you at the said days and Places the Writts and |
