Cornelius Comegys foreman Bennet staires recordeth a Cow Calf Given by him unto Martha the daughter of Edward Chicken marked a swallow fork on the Right eare, & a Cropp & two slitts on the left eare. Edward Chicken recordeth his Mark a slitt on the Right eare a Cropp & two siitts on the left. This Indenture made the thirtieth of March Annoq dni 1674 & in [lot. 67] the three & fortieth yeare of the dominion of Caeci!lius Absolute Ld & Propr of the province of Maryland & Avalon Lord Barron of Baltemore &c Betweene William Bateman of the County of kent in the province of Maryland planter of th one part And Richard Lowder of the County & Province aforesd planter of the other part Wittnesseth tht the said willim Bateman for & in Consideracon of five thousand & five hundred pounds of Tobb & Cask to him in hand pd at & before the Enseahing & deliuery of these prsents, by the sd Richard Lowder well & truly paid the receipt whereof I the Willim Bateman doth heareby Acknowledg & himself therewith & of every part & parcell thereof fully satisfied Contented & pd & of Every part & pcell thereof, doth heareby Absolutely & Clearely Exonerate Acquitt & discharge, the sd Richard Lowder, his heires Exrs Admistrs & Assignes for Ever By these prsents doth fully Clearely & Absolutely Giue grant bargaine sell Alien Enfeoffee and Confirme unto him the sd Richard Lowder his heires Exrs Admrs or Assignes All tht pcell or Tract of Land called by the name of Green Branch Contained or Laid out for two hundred Acres more or Less scituate lyeing & being in kent County in the Province of Maryland, neere a parcell of Land formerly laid out for John Ringold, Called Middle spring begining at a marked spanish Oake, standing at the south end of a swamp Called the great swamp |
