          Liber B    oure prouince or of any of them in the County of Kente aforsaid
                as according to those laws and orders shall be fitt to be donn we haue
                also Constituted & ordayned you and euery three or moore of you of
                which you the said Rob: Vaughan & Phillipe Conner (unlese some
                on of oure Counsell be prest) allways to be on Commissioner to In
                quire by the oath of good and lawfull men of your County of Kent
                Aforesaid of all maner of fellonnys wichcrafts Inchantrnents socerrys
                Magick Arts trespases forestalings Ingroseings & extortions whatso
                euer & of all & singuler other misdeeds & ofenses of which Justiss of
                the pease in Ingland may or ought lawfully to Inquire by whomsoeuer
                or whensoeuer donn or perpetrated or which hearafter shall happen
                whosoeuer to be donne or perpetradted in the County aforesaid
                against the laws and orders of thes oure Prouince prouided you pro
                seede not in any Cases aforsaid to take life or member but that in
                Euery such Case you send the prisnors with thayr Inditments and
                the whole matter depending be fore yô to the next prouintiall Court to
                be holden f or thes oure prouince whensoeuer or whearsoeuer to be
                holden thear to be tried and further we doe hearby Athorize you to
                Ishue writs proposes arests and atachment to hold pie of Heare and

                determine & after Judgment Execution to award in all Causes Ciuell
                whether in Acctions Realle or parsonall wheare the thinge in Acction
                doth not Excead the value of three thousand pounds of tobaco accord
                ing to the laws orders and Reasonable Costoms made and used in thes
                oure prouince of Mariland in which Causese Ciuell to be tried we doe
                Constitute ordayne & upoynt the said Robert Vaughan or Phillipe
                Conner to Judge as afore said unles some on of the Counsell be then
                in Courte And further we Command you that youe Dilligently Intend
                the Keepinge of the peace Laws and order and all and singuller other
                the primmises and att sertayne days and places uppoynted which youe
                or any such thre or more of youe as is aforesaid shall in that behalfe
                apoynt & yea make Inquirys upon the primisses and heare and deter
                mine all and singuler the primises & performe & fullfill the same in
                forme aforsaid doinge thearin that which to Justise apertayneth
                according to the laws orders & Reasonable Customs of thes our
                prouince saucing to use the Amersments and other things thearof to
                us belonginge and we Command the shrife of Kent County by vertue
                of thes presents that at sertayne days and places which youe or any
                shuch thre or moore of youe aforsaid shall make Knowene to hime
                to giue his Atend on youe and if nead Require to Caus to Come
                before youe or Any such thre or moore of youe as aforsaid such and
                as many good and law full men of your County by whom the truth in
                the primmises may the better be knowne and Inqurred of and lastly
                we haue apoynted John Coursey Gent: Clarke and Keeper of the
                Records of proseadings in thes your County Court and thearf ore you
                shall Caus to be brought be for youe at the said days and placese the
                writts prosese and Indittement to your Court and Juredicktion be-
