      Kent County Court Proceedings, 1656-1662.

  coming to the house of the sd Bradnox nere about two houres before Liber B
  sunriseing the said Bradnox after some Expresiones of his Joy
  for or safe returne drawed a botle of the aforsd drams to drincke with
  this depnt, & Capt Vaughan, & at the same tyme the saide Bradnox
  went unto his bedside where the wife of the Bradnox being the sd
  beed, the sd Bradnox desired & requested his sd wife to drinke with
  him: or pledge him a dram & to forgett & pass by all malice or Cause
  of Discord that was betwixt them but the sd Mrs Bradnox would not
  willingly doe but with much pswasion she recd the bottle once or
  twice into her hand & put it to her mouth but wheather or noe she did
  drincke any the sd drams I cannot depose; & further whilst they were
  adrincking the sd drams there being three or four men of Mr Bradnox
  family or neighbours drincking pt of the drams, by wch tyme the
  drincking of the sd qrt bottle of drams & pt of one more the Brad
  nox was much disguised with drincke that he was not able to goe nor
  stand & riseing up out of a chair where he satt he fell downe on the
  ground by wch fall his nose did bleed much, wch this depnt & the sd
  Bradnox wife tooke him up & laid him on the bed & held him & dried
  the blond from him untill it left bleeding & further saith not

    Capt Robt Vaughan sworne saith the very same words verbaf &
  further that the sd Bradnox was uery full of greife through the con
  tention of his wife & further saith not; but onely that the sd bradnox
  informed these words to this depnt at his first coming into the house:

    At a Court holden for kent the of Nouem 1657 then psent
    Mr Edw: LoydProuintiall     Mr Phill Conier
    Mr Sam: Wethers       Comissmrs  Mr. Tho: Ringold Comissrs
                          Mr Tho: Hinson
                          Mr Hen: Morgan


    Whereas the Constable for this Iland exhibited a prsentment to the
  Courte houlden the 20: of febry 56 agst Mr Wickes in the case of
  bastardy, & the Euidences to proue the psentment not being prsent
  when the matter was in hearings the court saw cause to refer the mat
  ter to the next court, & the sd wickes was suspended from his place for
  that prsmt This court takeing Cognisance of the sd prsentment &
  not finding by the Euidences sufficient proofe to make the sd wickes
  guilty in the matter of fact: the court doth therefore reuerse the
  first order in point of suspention, & leaue the sd Wickes in Statuo quo
  prius to his place & Judicature;

    Mr Henry Morgan complaineth agst Tho: Ringold haueing mar
  ried the Administratix of the Estate of Tho Hill Senior deceased
