Kent County Court Proceedings, 1656-1662. 109 was About 7 yeares old: And yor dept sd Agayen That he Thought Liber B in his Consienc That it was more like Tenn or eleven or There abouts: And yor Deponat seing John Deare goe into The penn And Roop the Cow himsilfe sd suerly This Cow hath ben Roopt before now but The sd Deare sayed Agayen never in this World/ Edw Hull Margret Hull sworne sayeth The very same with her husband only exsepting That she Did not Take notis of The whiet futt And further sayeth not Margret Hull her signe Roger Baxter sworne sayeth That in October was flue yeares last past yor Dept sould vnto John Deare one Two yeare old heifer which was of A brownesh Culler all ouer And no other Culler About her And it was Markt with an vper keell on The right & a hoole: And The left a whoole And a slett vnder neath: But when yor Dept Markt This heifer when it was a Calfe it was Cooll Blacke And no other Culler Roger R B Baxter his signe \Vhareas Tho: hill hath enterd an Action Agst MT wickes And he haueing ben somond Vnto This Court And The sd Mr wickes haueing not Appeard nor no Atturny for him And The Plantiue Crauing Chargis: The Court hath orderd That The sd Mr Wickes shall pay The like Charge That The sd W wickes should haue had Agst The sd Tho: Hill by an Non suit/ elc Execution Thomas Hinson sworne sayeth That Mr Thomas Hill which is now Deseased: being At yor Depts house somtime last sumer Did in y0r Depts hearing say That he had reciued som goots And other Things of his Daughter Rueths which he was indebted vnto her for And should haue sattesfied her long before now: But now he would giue vnto her his Cow Cald Ring horne & her incresse in lew of The sd goods That he had of her/ Tho Hinson Tho: South sworne sayeth The Very same with Mr Hinson Aboue Tho: South John Ringgold sworne sayeth: [fol. 26] That yor dept being at Thomas Hills weding at his fathers house The 4th of March 1655: where Mr Wickes And som others Cald out Mr Thomas Hill out of Doers And The sd mr wickes prswaded The sd Mr Hill to giue his sunn som Thing being now new begeners: And Mr Hill Replyed he had nothing no saith Mr Wickes giue him A Plantation: The sd Mr Hill was vnwilling to That: then sd mt Wickes Agayne giue him a heifer: no sd mr Hill I haue not Any: |
