be sensible, be pretty considerable: T am informed, that trie Assem-
bly of Virginia have voted Six Thousand Pounds for that Purpose,
and toward defraying the Charge of building a Fort, or raising addi-
tional Works to that of the Enemy's, in case of it's Reduction. I
choose rather to leave it to yourselvs to determine, than specify my-
self, what will be reasonable for this Government to contribute
thereto; but I hope you will not think of less than Four Thousand
Pounds, and that Sum, I am told, you may appropriate without
imposing any Burthen on the People at this Time.

On considering his Excellency's Message of this Afternoon, the
Question was put, Whether the Sum of £5000 be raised for his
Majesty's Service, or Not? Resolved in the Affirmative.
On Motion, The Question was put, Whether the Money arising
upon Ordinary Licences, shall be one of the Ways and Means,
whereby the Sum of £5000 be replaced Resolved in the Affirmative.
