               Liber F F  hee will bee accountable, And desyres a Commisn to Auditt the Acct,
                      And if hee hath Assetts in his hands fownd of Stephen Clifton de
                      ceased, hee then shall bee willing to pay.
                       Ordered tht Mr Richard Ewen & Mr Beniamin Rosier Audit the
                      Acct agst to morrow morning. Vid fol. 93.

                The Court adiorned ‘till tomorrow morning 9 a Clock.

                Saturday 14th Octobr 1665. All prnt as afore (Except Mr Edward

                            Lloyd & Mr Henry Coursey)

                       The Grand Jury is dismissd. Raymond Staplefort Called to the
                      Barre. The Presentmt Read, wch is as followeth.
                       The Jurors &c: Doe present That about the 22th of Decernbr 1664,
                      Raymond Stapiefort the day & yeare aforesd by fforcc & armes seu-
                      erall Roomes of John Bayleys did enter, where noc Entry is gyuen
               Presentmt  by Law: & Likewise on the 12th of ffebruary in the ycare aforesd
                      seuerall goods & Chattles to the ualue of Twenty Thowsd pownds of
                  [p. 88] Tob then & there fownd ifeiloniously did steale take & carry away
                      Contrary to his LPS Peace rule & dignity.
                                           By Informaon of John Bayley.

                       The Prisoner pleads not guilty, And putts himselfe uppon his
                      Country. The Bayle are acquitted from their Bond.
                       Sheriffes Returne writt Petite Jury.

                       The Complaynt of John Bailey agst Raymond Staplefort
                       About the 22th Decembr 1664 whillst John Bailey was att St Marieses
                      to assist att a Jury, Raymond Staplefort att night caused a Boy his
                      seruant called Humphrey Jones to enter att a window, whereof Two
                      woodden Barrs had beene broken eyther by himselfe or by the
                      Boy, where the sd Boy hauing entred, opened the Doore, (wch was
                      fast shutt wth a spring Lock) unto the sd Staplefort, who went in &
                      tooke out sundry sorts of goods belonging unto the s BaIley to the
                      ualue of Twenty to Twenty fowre Thowsd pownds of Tob. or there
                      abouts, As aliso all the sd Balleys Bills & Bonds & some accounts, to
                      the Import of aboue sixty Thowsd pownds of Tob. more, And the
                      next morning the sd Staplefort mended & nayled up againc the forestd
                      Two Woodden Barns.
                       Likewise the 12th day of ffebruary att night, being Sunday, And
                      the sd Bailey absent from home, The Raymond Staplefort entred
                      into the sd Balleys Chamber, where Lay Three Greate Packs of
