168 Provincial Court Proceedings, 1663-64. Liber B B Cæcilius &c: To the High Sheriffe of St Maries County Greeting Whereas uppon a Jury of Enquest made the 2d of March 1663 & now gyuen into our office, It may bee probably gathered & suspected that Pope Aluey was cause of the Death of Alice Sandfast his seruant These are therefore to will & requyme yow to take the Body of the sd Pope Aluey, & him keepe in safe Custody wthout Bayle or Mayn prize, And haue him att Our next Prouinciall Court to bee holden att St Maries 50 Aprill next, & this Our Writt. Wittnes Our Deare sonne & heyre &c: Gyuen att St Maries 70 March 1663. Charles Caluert March 8th Thomas Taylor dds writt agst John Anderton in an accon of Debt to the ualue of 3000£ Tob. & 30£ barrells of Corne Vid Pet fol. Wart to sheriffe Caluert County to arrest &c: Ret. next Prouin 138. ciall Court 50 Aprill next. Vid, Pet. Thomas Taylor dds writt agst John Anderton in an accon of Tres 139 passe to the ualue of 12000£ Tob. Wart to Eundm Sheriffe &c: Ret. ut supra. [p. 226] Summons to Eundtm Shemiffe to warne Edward Hoskins & Thomas Courtney, to testify in ditt. pro Taylor in both Causes supra, Sub pæna 5001 Tob. Bee it knowne unto all men by these prnts, That I Walter Pakes, for & in Considerãon of a marriage betweene Henry Aspinall, & Mary the eldest Daughter of me Walter Pakes, I the sd Walter Pakes doe hereby Giue, graunt & confimme to the sd Henry for diuers good con sideraons mee mouing themeunto, Three hundred Acres of Land, knowne by the name of St Lawrence Neck to him the sd Henry Asspinall, his heyres, & the heyres of the aforesd Mary for euer, Pro uided tht if in Case the sd Mary shall dye issuelesse (wch god forbid) That then the sd Three hundd Acres, aboue mentioned, shall bee to the only use & property of him the sd Henry Aspinall during his naturall Lfe, And then to enure & bee to the only behoofe of him the sd Walter Pakes and his heyres, wthout any further trouble or moles taon, as wittnes my hand this 2d day of March 166¾ Signed before us Walter Pakes Willm Bretton John Samwayes.
