there are at Frederick Town only 75 Men from Baltimore County,
and that he is obliged to make up the Deficiency from Frederick, an
Inconvenience that no one County ought to be subject to.

[Council to Mr John Whips.]

We have enclosed you a Copy of a Deposition delivered in to the
Board respecting a Mare in your Possession, the Property of the
United States. If she is not delivered to the Quartermaster at this
Post, or some Continental Officer, we shall direct the Attorney Gen-
eral to prosecute against you for her.

We have the Honor to enclose you the Copy of a Resolution of
Congress, lately received and are Sir &ca

Saturday 9th February 1782.

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to James Brice Esqr
one hundred and eighty five pounds, eight shillings and four pence
specie agreeable to the Act to adjust the Debts &ca per Certs passed
17 July last.
That the said Treasurer pay to William Sellers fourteen pounds
of the Bills emitted under the Act for the Emission of Bills of Credit
&ca due him per Account passed. —
That the said Treasurer pay to William Logan, three pounds,
fourteen shillings and eight pence of the same Emission due him for
a Certificate under the Act to adjust the Debts &ca
That the said Treasurer pay to Capt Jonathan Morris fifty two
pounds of the Same Emission in full for Clothing for the Years
1781 and 1782 and also to Capt Lilburn Williams Thirty pounds of
the same Emission for Clothing on Account
That the said Treasurer pay to Charles Carroll of Carrol ton Esqr
one thousand seven hundred and sixty one pounds seventeen shillings
and eight pence of the same Emission for a Certificate issued agree-
able to the Act to adjust the Debts due from this State —
That the Said Treasurer pay to the Honorable John Rogers Esqr
four hundred and fifty pounds specie per Account passed by the Audr
General. —
That Mr Muir be requested to deliver Captain Bryan of the State
Boat Dolphin twenty eight yards of Canvas for Tarpawlins and to
mend sails. —
That Mr Shaw Armourer deliver to Capt Bryan one Adz, one Jack
plane, one smoothing ditto, one rule, Spike Gimblets one broad Ax,
one handsaw and one Drawing knife or such of them as he may have
in his Charge. —
