[Council to Capt. Daniel Bryan.]

You are to proceed immediately to Emmerson's Warehouse on
Wye River, and apply to Charles Blake Esqr Commissary for Queen
Ann's County for a Load of Flour, and return with it to this Place.

We shall be much obliged to you to furnish Capt. Bryan, of the
State Boat, with what Provisions he may want.

We have received two Letters from you dated the 12th Instant.
Colo Harrison's Price for grinding &ca is more than we are empow-
ered to give, the Law allows only 8d our Money per Bushel. If he will
do it at that Rate, we would have you send the Wheat to him to be
manufactured; we are willing to give his Price for the Barrels. You
must not part with the red Money but as Specie, and if you cannot
procure Barrels and Salt with the Money, we would have you dispose
of as much Wheat or Flour as will furnish Barrels and Salt for the
Pork you may receive for Taxes. You had better dispose of the
Cattle you received of Mr Jenifer.

Tuesday 18th December 1781.

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay Gerrard Hopkins
seven pounds and nine pence of the Bills emitted under the Act for
the Emission of Bills of Credit &ca of the money appropriated for
the present Campaign due him per Account passed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to the said Gerrard Hopkins Sixteen
shillings and eight pounds, three shillings and four pence of the
Same Emission of the money aforesaid due him p Acct passed by the
Aud Genl.
That the said Treasurer pay to Leanhart Cor r ick fifty pounds
Specie agreeable to the Act to adjust the Debts [due] from this State
per Account passed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to John Smith Esquire one thousand
seven hundred pounds, eighteen shillings and three pence specie agree-
able to the Act aforesaid p Cert, settled by the Aud Gl 15th Inst.
