of the General Assembly, appoint Tuesday the 25th Instant for the
Celebration of the Auspicious event; and I cannot doubt that the good
Citizens of this State will Unite in the Joy which an occasion so
nearly affecting the happiness of our Ally will not fail to inspire, while
they experience a new source of satisfaction on the birth of a Prince
from whom we have every reason to expect a Continuance of the
blessings of our Alliance, the same lively attention to the injured and
oppressed and all those great and good qualities which have excited
our admiration and Gratitude and which so eminently distinguish his
illustrious Father. Given at Annapolis this 13th day of June in the
sixth Year of our Independence and in the Year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and eighty two.

This Proclamation omitted to be entered the 13th Instant.
Ordered That Captain George Keeports deliver to John McLure
Esquire eight hundred pounds Common Powder to be returned in
good Powder within four Months, or sooner, if the Public should
have occasion for it.

[Council to Majr Nathaniel Smith]

We have yours of the 16th. We approve of your Conduct in
paroling the Officers and confining the Privates in Prison. Capt.
Walters is going to New York to endeavour to effect an Exchange
for the Whole, except Smallwood and the Blacks; mean Time, if a
Guard should be necessary, you will apply to Colo Saml Smith, who
will furnish a Militia Guard. You will also continue to supply them
with Provisions, 'til the Intendant has it done by Contract, and you
shall be reimbursed your Expences. Smallwood must be kept in
Irons, 'til our farther Directions, and the Blacks must be kept for
their Owners.

Thursday 20 June 1782

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Colo George
Stricker sixty one Pounds, fourteen shillings and two Pence of the
Bills emitted under the Act for the Emission of Bills of Credit &ca
to be delivered over as follows, three Pounds, ten shillings to Edward
Thomas, thirty one Pounds sixteen shillings to John Arnold, three
Pounds, fifteen shillings to Capt John Richardson and twenty two
Pounds, thirteen shillings and two Pence to Frederick Miller due
them per Accounts and Certificates passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut Robert Wilmot of the
Artilery, twenty five Pounds, sixteen shillings of the same Emission
for Stores to the 1st of December 1781 on Account.
