[Council to Richard Barnes Esq^r Lieu^t S^t Mary's.]

We are informed that a certain Jacob Hayward is now in S^t Mary's
County, at or near the Dwelling of M^r Briscoe, Naval Officer on
Patuxent River. He is charged with treasonable Practices against
the State; We therefore hereby order, direct and empower you to
make diligent Search for, and apprehend the said Jacob Hayward
and send him to this City under a sufficient Militia Guard.
