[Council to Richard Barnes Esqr Lieut St Mary's.]

We are informed that a certain Jacob Hayward is now in St Mary's
County, at or near the Dwelling of Mr Briscoe, Naval Officer on
Patuxent River. He is charged with treasonable Practices against
the State; We therefore hereby order, direct and empower you to
make diligent Search for, and apprehend the said Jacob Hayward
and send him to this City under a sufficient Militia Guard.
