November 17
Red Book
No. 23
Letter 87

( 17th P. S. to the 16th)
I have wrote to Mess" Tilghman 4th and Dickinson, also to the
several County Comissarys, requesting their Exertion in forwarding
the Beef, Flower and wheat, which I doubt not of your concurance
and further assistance in, Colo Lloyd has a parcel of Corn which He
will spare on the terms inclosed (in His Letter) I have thought it
too high, but now Submit it to your Excellency and Honors, if tis
thought not too high I'le thank you to give order in it.

Red Book
No. 23
Letter 89

[Edward Lloyd, Talbot County to Col. Hollingsworth.]

Your letter of the 13th Instant did not reach me before yester-
day Evening. I need not mention, how anxious I am to support
the Credit of our late Emission; but surely it cannot be expected,
that a few Citizens should receive it, when the people allmost uni-
versally refuse it. However, as I am largely engaged to support
the Credit of the money, and think it the Duty of every Whig to con-
tribute all in his power to keep up the Credit thereof; I shall dose
with you so far as to take one third in the new Emission, and the
other two thirds in hard Cash; the money to be paid down on the
delivery of the Corn at 2/6 p bushel. The Quantity on hand I be-
lieve may be from 1200 to 1500 bushels to be delivered at my Land-
ing on Wye River.

Red Book
No. 23
Letter 91

[Eph. Blaine, C. G. Pro., York Town, to Henry Hollingsworth Esqr.]

The Army being detached from this place and few or no Troops
remaining here, have to request you to forward no more provisions
of any kind to this place — when further operations or the Can-
teenmts of the Army take place shall give you information where to
forward your supplys — what beef Cattle you have upon hand prepa-
ration must be made to salt them down and have them properly Bar-
reld — great care must be taken in this Business in order that the beef
may be well cured to keep untill next Summer — however this is the
business of your State, and will require particular attention

[November]
Red Book
No. 23
Letter 88
[copy]

[Donaldson Yeates, D. Q. M., to Colo. Hollingsworth.]

As the Stores of our returning Army with the addition of those
taken with the late Captured Army under Lord Cornwallis, being
on the return some of which are already arived at this place from
York River, and the whole expected in a few days, there are re-
quired to be got a cross to Christeen Bridge with the utmost dis-
patch, this business will require the Service of all the Teams that can
be collected from the Country exclusive of the Ox Teams that came
on with the Army, when they first moved down, for twelve or four-
teen days at least; and from a calculation of the Support of those
Teams and Oxen for this time, it will require twelve Tons of Hay
