When you draw on me Please to do it in the following lines, by
advancing to my friend who is a Prisoner, on the Island; will oblidge
Your friend; Thos Johnston Jr Baltimore.
As I advance the mony shall forward to you threw Mr Garts of
this Town the Receipts of the officers and let you know what further
Prospects I have Mr Garts will forward any Commands you may
have with me, he also will Receive the Tobacco when I think Proper
to order the same

I have the Happines to inform you that your friend Thos Long,
Mention in his letter to his friend here, that he intends to leave that
some time this Month he intends to Charles Town, before he Reaches
this: the arrival of Troops, I expect some Linen in the first fleet from
him, I Rec'd your Guineas & Dollars shall Remit the same to your
friend. I Remain with due Respect Your Well Wisher

Sunday. Maryland Refugees Imbarked and certain for Annapolis,
the Mention of Mony the arrival of Troops, and Sunday and date
following the Certainty of there Comeing and Refugees Imbarked
were ever I Mention that Mr Long is expected to arrive is the place
of Destination. I should have fixd on figures but in my opinion more
Suspicious. If any mode you may fall on I will Cheerfully execute
I expect this will not Transpire from the Council Chamber.

[Geo. Murdock, to His Excellency Govr Lee]

It is with much concern I inform your Excellency, that we are
now without meat & no prospect of a speedy supply, at least noth-
ing equal to what will be necessary, having only a small quantity
at this time engaged and apprehend very little more remains unsold
in this County. The new Emission is of very little consequence
here as yet — so that I am much distreStd for money to comply
with past contracts. If the Treasury shoud be in cash and I can
be furnished with such money as will pass, I think by sending out
some distance, Cattle may still be purchased, particularly in Berkley
County, from whence there might be some difficulty in bringing
them, but if the owners cou'd be certain of ready money markets
here they wou'd I think risk that — complements are daily made by
the Farmers about the Town against the Guard & Prisoners for
Killing Hoggs, Poultry &c. which I much fear will encrease if no
method can be fallen on to supply them — please send an order on
