flour Recd is sold at 14/ to 15/. The persons who Bot it cannot get
that for it in Philada; When I receive that & the 100 Hhds from Mr
Muir, I will order it to Philada
I am Inform'd that These Troops are Immy to be Accoutred, if so,
orders should be Issued. I Have set Ellicott to work he has made
Twenty swords for Nicholsons Troops & would Continue. It takes
Considerable Time to procure saddles & accoutrements, and it is a
great advantage to provide in Time. These New recruits will want
Clothes. My Battalion has by subscription nearly raiStd their Men
say 40 — they are very good & might be put on the Horses Immy. No
person here seems dispoStd to take Care of them
IncloStd is an Inaccurate return of Clothing purchased I Have sent
to Philada for more tent Linen, for Drums, fifes &c &c & am now
in Treaty for 50 Excellt Blankets, which I shall get. If the Horses
are sent up we shall send with the waggons the whole of the Cloths.
The reason of the Detention of Coats is owing to a want of Red
Cloth, we have substituted Everlasting It was not procurable in
Philada However they are in good Time.

Agreeable to my Appointment I have Inlisted to the number of
Fourteen Recruits, and I expect to get on or Before the 16th a num-
ber more. By your Excellency's Letter to me, it appears that Thomas
Donnallen was Appointed to Receive & provide for them, but he
informs me it is not in his power to do either the one or other with-
out your Excellency's particular Instructions. The Recruits are
coming in fast & I have no way to provide for them. Therefore I
would beg your Excellency's Particular Instructions, as soon as possi-
