[Geo. P. Keeports, Baltimore, to Gov. Lee]

Please to pay Mr David Eavans or order Seven Thousand Seven
Hundred and sixty Five pounds Two shillings and Six pence Being
the Ballance in full for Officers Buttons. Bought of him By
Your Excellencys Most Obedient Humble Servt

[Genl Roberdeau's Obligation]

Whereas I have settled an Accott of this date with the Bald Eagle
Company, connected also, with an Interest Accott calculated on the
several payments and taken assurances from Nathaniel Owings and
John Cockey for two fifth parts of the amount, estimated at the
value of Gold, or so much of the Emission of forty for one as will
purchase gold to the amount.
For the regulation of which I hold myself accountable to them
for a discount of such depreciation as shall appear in the several
stages of said Accotts on the scale of the Calculations Issued by Con-
gress for the payment of public Debts taken in connection with the
value of gold at the time payment is made, as I look only for the
intrinsic value of a just demand, or so much paper money of the
Emission of forty for one warranted by Congress as will purchase
gold to the amount.

[Thos Beall of Geo. for T. Richardson, Esqr Geo. Town to His
Excellency Thos Sim Lee Esqr.] (favd by Mr J. Lingan)

This will be handed you by Mr James Lingan. I am to inform
you that the wheat purchaces have taken all the money you have
sent T. Richardson Esqr; it daily comes in; you'l please send by
Mr Lingan one Thousand pounds of the New State Money, &
Charge the same to Thos Richardson; have bought but little Beef
& no Pork; the latter have been carried from hence to Baltimore —
where they get from 300 to 350£ Conl p Ct so I am informed;
have sent some Beeves to Fredk Town, but cannot at present in-
form you the Quantity, but shall have it in my power in a few days,
to Acquaint you

[Thomas Donnellan, Baltimore, to Gov. Lee.] (By Mr. Poe).

Having so good an opportunity as Mr Poe, I again take the
Liberty of requesting that your Excellency will be pleased to Remit
me some Money, or if that can't conveniently be had, some Tobacco
Notes wch I will endeavour to Convert into Cash about £30000
might suffice for the present.
Tis now some better than Seven Months since your Excellency did
me the Honor to appoint me to Transact business here and twou'd
afford me great Sattisfaction to know what pay I am to have.
