State of Maryland Dr
To Sundry Goods Seized from the following Gentlemen by William
Clagett, the price of which are to be Assertained by the Hon. The
Governor and Council by the Samples now sent them, agreeable to
the said Clagetts certificates.

4 ps Oznaburgs containing 543 yds.
2 ps 4/4 Rusha Sheeting 76 3/4yds
131 ps Shoes at Marlboro
24 p ditto Nottingham155 ps
June 12th Alexander Contee at Nottinghame
1 ps 1/2 Ell Brown Drugget 35 1/2 yds
I ps '1/2 yd Brown Serge 40 1/4 yds
11 Mens Course Castor Hatts

Your appointment to me of the 5th Instant came to hand last
Friday evening, and agreeable thereto I have been to every place that
has Goods for sale in the County; The forgoing is an account of the
Articles that I have taken, those Goods which the price are not affixd
to, Mr Charles Lansdale will deliver you samples of them, some of
which are inclosed with copys of my certificates. The Goods lays at
the different places where taken, and I shall not collect them together
untill your further orders, I think the sooner they are got together
the better, as from their laying at so many different places perhaps
some of them may get lost. These are all the Goods which comes
within your instructions in this County, except a few Linens and
felt Hatts which my Brother Thomas Clagett & Co has, and which
he inform'd me that he intended to offer to you, if you should not
agree with him, and are in want of them, I shall take them agreeable
to the Late Law. Your order respecting the Tin Kettles came to
hand this day, and shall wait on the Gentlemen to morrow for them,
you may expect to receive the Kettles by Saturday evening.

I have purchased & taken into my Posession since my Appoint-
ment, two hundred and Eighty five yards woolen Cloth of different
sorts Eight hundred & twenty five yards linen, twenty one blanketts
& twenty pair of Shoes. I have some hopes in A few days I shall be
able to procure more Goods when done will inform you, in the mean
time shall wait your orders what's to be done with those I have by
me whither to be made up, and in what.
NB. 81 3/4 yds. of the above Cloth is very white and good
