[John Murdock Montgomery County, to His Excy The Governor
and The Honble The Council]

This Moment I received yours by Express, and shall order
the Militia as you have directed. Mr Thomas Beall of George will
inform you by this Conveyance of the Quantity of Flesh Provisions
in George Town, which I omitted to do in my Letter of Yesterday's
Date.

[Sam. Huntington, President, Philadelphia, to Gov. Lee.]

Your Excellency will receive enclosed a Copy of a Resolve of
Congress of the 2d Instant, directing, that all Bills which are issued
in the respective States in Pursuance of the Resolution of the18th of
March 1780, after the Expiration of one year from the Time the
Interest on such Bills begins to be completed, be stamped with the
Words or Characters Int. pd one (or 1) year
And that such of the said Bills as have already issued, whenever
the Interest is paid, be stamped in like Manner to prevent the neces-
sity & Expence of exchanging them.
It is also the Sense of Congress that the several States suspend as
far as possible, the Issuing of such Part of their respective Quotas
of said Bills as remain to be issued.

[James Sulivan, Dorchester County, to Gov. Lee. J

I am in want of Money to defray the Necessary charges respect-
ing my Business as Comy of this County the Comissioners of the
Tax do not think themselves impowered by the Assessment law to
draw on the new collector for that purpose and the old collector has
no money in his hands therefore would be Glad that you will for-
ward me an order on the Treasurer for one hundred and forty
pounds p first opportunity.
I am sending my provisions forward to the head of Chester as fast
as possable agreeable to orders from the Comy Genl

Enclosed Your Excellency will Receive my Return of Purchases
in April and May with an Account of what Stores I have on hand
but as I observe in my last there is but little more than will serve the
Militia on duty in this County If they are continued for any time
We are again Visited by three of the enemies ships Two are in
St. Marys River the other a little above in Potomack they have done
no damage yet that I have heard off, the Steers that are on hand
perhaps had better be kept and the Militia fed with Bacon and
Mutton will it be necessary for me to have more Barrels made than
will Serve this Post I sent an Application to the General Assembly
for a Relief from the Tobacco burnt in St. Mary's Warehouse that
