[Geo. P. Keeports, Baltimore, to Gov. Lee.]

May It Please Your Excellency
I Received your Letter of the 19th Inst: with an Order on General
Buchannan for f 10.000 and the Order for Delivering Arms Ammu-
nition &c to General Gists Orders I have Received But £476.. 5.
from Genl Buchannan Since the Receipt of the order £60 of which is
Convention Money (and he says he Cannot Tell when he Can Give
me any More as he paid Mr Jas. Calhoun the Whole of the Money
he had Collected) which sum is so Triffling that it is scarce worth
Naming In Comparison to the sum Wanting to Relieve my Distress
which is so Pressing for Money that I Cannot Avoid Supplicating
Your Excellency for a Speedy Relief.
As your Excellency did not Give me any Answer Respecting Lead
to have more Musquet Cartridges made up and the Whole of the.
Ammunition for small Arms Ready made Here is But a small store
If this State shou'd be Invaded, I have with the advice of Genl
Buchannan purchased 140lb Wt of Lead from Mr Stephen Steward
at 30 Dollars pr lb
Since my Last Letter Richard Dallam Esqr Lieut of Hartford
County has sent Expresses to me for Ammunition for the Use of
the Hartford County Militia which Orders I have Complied with
& Hope your Excellency will approve Thereof and send me Instruc-
tion how I am to Act in a Circumstance of this Sort as my Express
orders have Hitherto been to Deliver Ammunition to Genl Buchanan
or his Order Only
I have Purchased 105 Pair of Shoes more Since my Last at a Fort-
nights Credit at 140 Dollars pr Pair

[T. Donnellan, Baltimore, to Gov. Lee.]

Your Excellencys Commands of the 22d & 24th Instant have been
duly attended to and Flour sent down accordingly
I once more take the Liberty of requesting to be furnished with
Money to discharge the Debts Contracted by me for accot of the State
& also to answer my own Necessitys wch are realy very great.
Our County Collector abounds in Cash at present as the Tax comes
in very fast. I therefore Pray that your Excellency will send me an
order on him for such sum as you think convenient

[Jas. Williams, Annapolis, to the Governor and Council.]

I have three Gallies; which I will sell for £500 specie Viz. the An-
napolis Baltimore & Conqueror or will sell either one or two of them
for £200 specie a ps the Annapolis Gallic has cost me upwards of
£250 Specie for Carpenters work done to her; besides the first Cost.
