An Act continuing an Act entituled, An Act to prevent certain Evils
and Inconveniences attending the Sale of strong Liquors and run-
ning of Horse-Races near the yearly Meetings of the People
called Quakers, and to prevent the tumultuous Concourse of Ne-
groes and other Slaves during the said Meetings.

Be it Enacted by the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary, by
and with the Advice and Consent of his Lordship's Governor, and
the Upper and Lower Houses of Assembly, and the Authority of the
same, That an Act of Assembly of this Province entituled, An Act
to prevent certain Evils and Inconveniences attending the Sale of
strong Liquors and running of Horse-Races near the yearly Meet-
ings of the People called Quakers, and to prevent the tumultuous
Concourse of Negroes and other slaves during the said Meetings,
made at a Session of Assembly begun and held at the City of An-
napolis, the sixteenth Day of May, One thousand seven hundred
forty and seven, be and is hereby continued, and shall remain and be
in full Force for and during the Term of three Years next ensuing,
and to the End of the next Session of Assembly which shall happen
after the End of the said three Years.

An Act to oblige the Naval Officers to give sufficient Bonds for what
Moneys they shall receive belonging to the Public.

No. 20

Be it Enacted by the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary, by
and with the Advice and Consent of his Lordship's Governor, and
the Upper and Lower Houses of Assembly, and the Authority of
the same, That all and every Naval Officer of this Province shall, on
or before the tenth Day of November, Anno Domini Seventeen hun-
dred and fifty-one, give Bond with two sufficient Sureties, to be ap-
proved by the Governor or Commander in chief for the Time being,
payable to the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary of this Prov-
ince, in the Sum of one thousand Pounds Sterling Money, for the
Use of the Public of this Province, before a Provincial Magistrate,
Conditioned, " That he the said Naval Officer will, during his Con-
tinuance in the said Office, transmit to the Trustees residing at Lon-
don for the Time being, agreeable to the Directions of an Act enti-
tuled, An Act for emitting and making current ninety thousand
Pounds Current Money of Maryland, in Bills of Credit, good Bills
of Exchange, and account for and pay to the Treasurer or Trea-
surers for the Time being, from Time to Time, the several Sums of
