This house met again according to Adjournment
Present as Yesterday
Messrs Hyland & Baxter from the Lower house Attend with Mr
Henry Baker one of the Members returned for Cecil County to see
him qualified who takes the several Oaths to the Government re-
quired by Law, repeats & Subscribes the Abjuration & Test & then
withdraws
The Governor is pleased to communicate his Answer to the Ad-
dress of this House, which Answer is as follows
Gentlemen of the Upper House of Assembly
I return you thanks for Your Obliging Address and the kind as-
surance you give of chearfully concuring in every Measure that may
be necessary for the safety & defence of the Province, and as the
several Parts of the Legislature seem to agree so well in their Senti-
ments of the Inspection Law, I hope We shall be able to bring it to
such a Degree of Perfection as to establish the Trade & Prosperity
of the Province upon the most solid and lasting Foundation

This house hath appointed Richard Lee Esqr to Joyn the Mem-
bers named by your house in a Committee to inspect the Accounts
& Proceedings of the Commissioners of the Paper Currency Office
