[Council to Col. James Brice.]

We request you will order a discreet and spirited Commissioned
Officer two Serjeants and eighteen Rank and File of the Militia of
Ann Arundel as a Guard to conduct the British Prisoners in this City
to be delivered to the Lieutenant of Frederick County, who will have
Directions to receive and forward them to Fort Frederick

You will receive the British Prisoners from the Lieutenant of Ann
Arundel County and direct a proper and sufficient Guard to conduct
them to Fort Frederick, where they are to be delivered to Col.
Rawlings.

You will deliver to Mr Chisholme the 5ooo£ directed to be [ ]
by Mr McHard, and also what Tobacco you have in the Treasury.

[Council to Gen'1 Smallwood.]

We have ordered the British Prisoners now under Guard in this
City to be immediately sent to Fort Frederick into Confinement and
have directed Col. Brice Lieutenant of Ann Arundel County to pro-
cure a Sufficient Number of Militia to guard them there on his Appli-
cation, you'll be so obliging as to have them delivered.

Thursday 26th April 1781.

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay Captain Francis
Shepard and Lieut Charles Magruder of the Extra Regiment, each,
Sixty pounds in lieu of Twenty pounds Specie in part of their
Accounts passed by the Aud. General.

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Colo Nathaniel
Ramsey one hundred and twenty five pounds fourteen shillings and
three pence due him per Account passed by the Aud. General.
That the said Treasurer pay to Alice Redman one pound Seventeen
shillings and six pence due her per Account passed by the Depy Audr
That the said Treasurer pay to Martin Norris Twenty pounds,
eight shillings and nine pence due him per Account passed by the Aud.

That the said Treasurer pay to Francis Linthecum fourteen
pounds, three shillings and five pence due him per Account passed by
the D. Aud.
That the said Treasurer pay to William Campbell a Lame Soldier
of the 3d Regiment Twenty pounds on Account.
