That the said Treasurer pay to Alien Quynn Esqr Eighteen pounds
due him per Account passed by the Aud. Genl
That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Capt. John Mitchell ten
Camp Kettles for the Detachment of Regulars under his Command
which are to be returned.
That the Armourer deliver to Capt John Mitchell twenty five stand
of Arms with Accoutrements complete for the recruits to be returned,
and also to John Ridgeway eighty Cartridges Boxes to be delivered
over to Colo Joshua Beall Lieut of Prince Georges County for the use
of the Militia of the said County.
That Capt Philmon Warfield deliver to John Ridgeway thirty
Muskets with Accoutrements complete to be delivered to Colo Joshua
Beall for the use of the Militia aforesaid.
That William McLaughlin Collector of the Tax for Baltimore
County pay to James Calhoun Esqr two thousand pounds and also
to Thomas Donnellan five hundred pounds, on Account.
Commissions issued to Frederick Deames appointed Captain in the
room of George Ackerman & Stephen Shelmerdine first Lieut in the
Balto Town Battalion of Militia in Baltimore County.

As the Number of continental Soldiers are considerably aug-
mented in this City, we think it unnecessary that the Militia from
the Country should be marched in we therefore ask you to discharge
those that were heretofore ordered to the 'Fort from the Country

We think the Certificate we gave you for specie cannot be received
for the one fifth of the Sum for the confiscated Property purchased
by you, which by the Law is to be paid in Specie, because it was the
Design of the Act to procure a Loan to get a sum of specie into the
Treasury which is appropriated to particular Purposes. The relieving
the Officers in Captivity, the purchasing Cloathing for the Recruits
&ca &ca and it is not in our Power to dispense with that Appropriation,
and apply the Specie to other uses which would be done bv allowing
your Certificate to be paid in Lieu of Specie as soon as those im-
portant Purposes of the Law are annexed, it will give us Pleasure to
satisfy your Certificate.

in our Power to supply the Militia with such Military Stores as are
sufficient for their Defence, and necessary to prevent the Depre-
