Stopt forwarding any Provisions.

[John Steward to Gov Lee]

Sir I do myself the Honor to Inclose you Certificate, Register,
and list of Prisoners of the Sloop Experiment, the Flag of Truce
of which I advised you
Mr Legh Master the Master of the Flag will deliver this.
The Commissary of Prisoners at this having pass'd a Receipt to
Mr Masters for the Prisoners he brought here they have departed
to their several States I orderd the Prisoners three Days Provision
each to accomodate as many of them as did not chuse to enter into
service in this Port And have sent Mr Masters to you for Farther
Orders The Govr of Providence who sent him request that the Flag
may not be delay'd this request is only Customary

[Don'1 Yeates, Elk, to the Council]

Gentn I take the liberty to inform you the troops of the late
raised regiment of this State has been at this place on their return
from Phild some days waiting the Arrival of their Cloathing when
this happen which is expected in a few days they will want craft to
transport them to Annapolis this circumstance I think necessary
to Advise you of as its probable it may be convenient and your
pleasure to order craft up I believe there will be Virginia Craft
enough returning to be had on being pressed, not otherwise as most
Classes of People are disgusted at Public service and will not enter
voluntarily unless convinced they will receive pay at the end of
their Service and this Post is not yet, supply'd with money
P. S. number of troops here about 250

[Edw'd Giles, Pha., to Gov. Lee]

Sir I have the Satisfaction to inform your Excellency that I
have procured most of the Cloathing, the Troops stand in need of.
My order from the Board of War, was for 450 Coats, 450 Vests,
450 Wollen overalls, 450 Hats, 450 pr shoes and 450 Shirts. The
Coats I have obtained at Sukkysunny [Succasunna] 20 miles beyond
Morris Town, they are of the best Quality; most of them Brown &
red, lined thro with twilled Wollen. Overalls not being attainable, I
drew in their stead Leather Breeches & Stockings both of an excellent
Quality. Vests I expected to have procured at Trenton, but to my
great mortification they were all forwarded to Camp & issued out.
some indeed there were at Newberg, about 100 miles beyond Morris
Town, but I conceived the Distance joined with the Roughness of
