The Bill entituled, An Act for raising a Duty of Three Half pence
&c. was Indorsed, " Read the second time, and will pass "; and was
sent to the Upper House by Mr Lloyd and Capt Addison
Col. Hooper from the Committee of Laws, delivers to Mr Speaker
an Address to the Governor; which was Read, approved and Ordered
to be Ingrossed.
A Bill entituled, An Act Reviving An Act of Assembly of this
province entituled, An Act ascertaining the Gauge and Tare of To-
bacco Hogsheads; and to prevent cutting cropping, and defacing
Tobacco, taken on Board Ships or Vessels upon ffreight; was read
the first and second time by an Especial Order, and will pass; and
was sent to the Upper House by Col. Dashiel and Capt. Bond.
An Ingross'd Bill entituled, An Act for Trial of all matters of
ffact &c. was Read and Assented to; and sent to the Upper House
with the paper Bill, by Mr John Gresham, and Major Barnes.
The following Address, viz.
To his Excellency Samuel Ogle Esqr Governor of Maryland.
The Humble Address of the House of Delegates of the said
Province.
May it please your Excellency.
There being a Ballance of the sum of 187l..13s..6d Sterling, due
to the public of this province, from Robert Ungle Esqr late Treas-
urer of the Eastern shore; and also a Ballance due from Philip Lee
Esqr late Naval Officer of North Potomack District. This House
did in the year 1746 request his Excellency Thomas Bladen Esqr
the then Governor, that the said Ungle's Bond might be put in Suit
against the Sureties of the said Ungle, their Executors or adminis-
trators, in such manner as that the said Money might be Recovered
for the use of this province, and likewise that his then Excellency
would Order the Attorney General to sue his the said Lee's Bond,
pass'd for discharge of his Duty in the Office aforesaid, whereby the
public might have such Ballance duly paid
But forasmuch as it doth not appear to this House, that any
thing hath been done in Consequence of that Address, we Request

that your Excellency will give Directions to the Attorney General,
that proper process may Issue as well against the Sureties of the said
Ungle, their Executors or Administrators, as against the sureties
of the said Lee, to the end that the several Sums of money due and
owing on the said Bonds may be Recovered for the use of the Public
of this Province.
Was brought in Ingrossed, and was Read and Assented to, and
Signed by Order of the House by the Honourable Speaker.
Mr Harrison, and Mr Harris, were sent to acquaint the Governor,
this House hath prepared an Address to him, and desires to know
when and where he will please to Receive it. They return and ac-
