The House met according to adjournment &c.
The petition of the people called Quakers, was read; and Leave
is given to bring in a Bill according to prayer
The petition of Patrick Creagh, and others, was read and Rejected.
Richard Lee Esqr from the Upper House, delivers to Mr Speaker
the Bill entituled, An Act to Remedy some Defects in an Indenture
of Bargain and Sale from Michael Curtis &c. Indors'd By the Upper
House of Assembly, June 19, 1747. Read the second time and will
pass. Signed per Order Ross Cl. Up. Ho.
Which Bill was here Read, and passed for Ingrossing. The Jour-
nal of Accounts was Read and Assented to, and sent to the Upper
House, by the Gentlemen of the Committee of Accounts.
On reading the Bill entituled, An Act for amending the Staple
of Tobacco, &c. the Question was put, whether the Money taken
out of the Office shall be paid by the Respective Counties where any
Deficiency arises; or the Income of the respective Inspecting Houses
of any such County or not? Resolved in the Affirmative.
