Friday Morning Novr 7th 1746

The House met according to Adjournment, the Proceedings of
Yesterday were Read. The House having taken into Consideration
his Grace the Duke of Newcastle's Letter
Resolved that a Sum not exceeding Pounds be applied for
the Maintenance and Support of the Soldiers raised within this Prov-
ince for his Majesty's Service and now in the Province of New York
Ordered that Mr Phillip Hammond Mr Key Doctor Carroll.
Doctor Buchanan and Mr Richard Gresham be appointed a Com-
mittee to make a Calculation of the Expence of maintaining Three
hundred Soldiers for six Months and to find out Ways and Means
to raise a Sum for that purpose and to make a Report thereof to the
House
Doctor Charles Carroll delivers to Mr Speaker a Narrative Com-
plaint and humble Petition which was Read & Referred for Con-
sideration to Morrow Morning.
A petition of Mr Joseph Hall of Calvert County to this House was
Read & Referred for Consideration to Morrow Morning.
The Govr Communicated to Mr Speaker the following Answer to
the Address of this House Viz.
Gentlemen of the Lower House of Assembly
What you say in your Address Justly claims my Approbation and
you accordingly have it very sincerely T. Bladen
The house Adjourns untill 2 of the Clock.
Post Merediem. The House met according to Adjournment.
Colo King, Colo Hall & Capt Ennalls appeared in the House. Mr

Sheredine & Mr Matthias Harris two of the Agents appointed by
an Act of Assembly Entituled an Act for issuing and Taking out
of the Office of the Commrs or Trustees appointed for Emitting Bills
of Credit &ca the sum of £4500. Currant Mony for Encouragement
of such able bodied Freemen as shall Voluntarily Enlist themselves
into his Majesty's Service for the intended Expedition against
Canada &c Deliver to Mr Speaker the following Accts Viz.
