said Parish and to Impower the Justices of said County to Levy on

the Taxable Inhabitants of the said Parish the Slim of Eighty Thou-

sand Pounds of Tobacco for the Uses therein mentioned
An Act Impowering the Justices of Talbot & S' Mary's County
Courts to allow at the Laying their next County Levy unto Jonas
Green of the City of Annapolis Printer the sums therein mentioned
Which Bills were thus severally indorsed, By the Upper House
of Assembly The Ingrossed Bill whereof this is the Original is read
and Assented to. Signed p Order I. Ross G. Up. Ho.
Mr Phillip Hammond delivers Mr Speaker an Address to the Gov-
ernor which was read aproved of and Ordered to be Ingrossed
The Ingrossed Address being read and assented to, was ordered
on Behalf of the House to be signed by the Honourable speaker, and
is as follows
To his Excellency Thomas Bladen Esq. Governor of Maryland
The humble Address of the house of Delegates
May it please your Excellency
We are sensible that the Duke of Newcastle's Letter to Your Ex-
cellency is in the following Words Viz. As to the Article of Arms
and Cloathing of the Men to be raised His Majesty has commanded
me to recommend it to you and the other Governor's to take care
that the Soldiers may be provided with them: And his Majesty has
Authorized and Impowered Lieut General St. Clair to make a reason-
able Allowance for defraying that Expence
This Session being we humbly hope near a Conclusion and this
House having Acquainted your Excellency that no Business remained
before them it might reasonably have been Expected that none would
now be offered and particularly on the present Head in as much
as that part of the above recited Letter is addressed Immediately to
your Excellency & not to the Assembly and that it appears by the Act
passed this Session that this House have fully complyed with and
rather Exceeded what was Required on their Part to be done with
respect to his Majesty's intended Expedition against Canada

Mr Stoughton and Mr Wilkinson ordered to Acquaint his Excel-
lency that this House hath prepared an Address to him and desires
to know when and where he will be pleased to receive it. They
Return and Acquaint Mr Speaker his Excellency will be ready to
receive it immediately in the Conference Chamber.

The same Gentlemen sent to present the Address They return and
Acquaint Mr Speaker they have presented it.

Samuel Chamberlaine Esqr from the Upper House Acquaints Mr
Speaker that the Governor his Attendance therewith the Rest of the
Members of the Lower House
