Wednesday Morning, March 26. 1746.
The House met according to Adjournment, and the Proceedings
of Yesterday were read.
On reading the second Time the Bill entituled An Act for rais-
ing Sterling per Hogshead on all Tobacco to be exported,
for purchasing Arms and Ammunition for the Defence of this Prov-
ince, a Question was put, whether any Duty shall be laid on Tobacco
for that Purpose ? Resolved in the affirmative.
