That the said Treasurer pay to the said William Rawlings, three
pounds fifteen shillings of the new Emission in lieu of an order of the

[Council to Board of War]

Gent" By a late Letter from his Exy General Washington, it
appears that Colo Price has resigned his Commission; We therefore
ratify and confirm the Promotion of Lieut Colo Benja Ford as Lieut
Colo Commandant of the 2d Regiment and request his Commission
may be dated the 31st of April 1780, the Day on which his Exy in-
forms us Colo Price's Resignation was made. Some of the Gentle-
men appointed Officers by our Letter of the 29th of May, being made
Prisoners in the Action of the 16th of last Month, we are anxious to
know whether the Commissions issued from your Board agreeably to
our Request.

Sir We received yours of the 20th Inst and request you to have all
the public Arms in St Mary's which are unfit for Service, sold to
the best Advantage, to the People in your County. We shall have
Occasion to send the State Boats down and shall, by that Oppor-
tunity, send you some Arms from the State Armory
