Mr Speaker a Bill entituled An Act for the Speedy and effectual pub-
lication of the Laws of this Province, and for the Incouragement of
Jonas Green, of the City of Annapolis, Printer ;

Table
Samuel Chamberlain Esqr from the Upper House delivers
Mr Speaker several Petitions from St. Mary's, Cecil, Talbot, Somer-
set, and Prince George's County's, Indorsed. Referred to the Con-
sideration of the Lower House of Assembly :
On Leave given, Mr Calder, from the Committee of Laws, brings
in a Bill, entituled, An Act continuing an Act, entituled, A Supple-
mentary Act to the Act, entituled An Act laying an Imposition on
Negroes, and Several Sorts of Liquors Imported, and also on Irish
Servants to prevent the Importing too great a Number of Irish
Papists into this Province, Which Bill was Read the ffirst time, and
ordered to lie on the Table.
On Leave given Doctor Carroll, from the Committee of Laws,
delivers Mr Speaker, a Bill entituled An Act to prevent injuring
Harbours within this Province, and for Repealing the Act therein
mentioned; Which Bill was Read the ffirst time, and Ordered to lie
on the Table.
William Stoughton Esqr from the Committee of Laws, brings in a
Congratulatory Address to the King's most Excellent Majesty;
which was Read, and Ordered to lie for further Consideration.
The House adjourns until the Morrow Morning, at 9 of the Clock

The House met according to Adjournment &c.
The Petition Referred from the Upper House, of divers the In-
habitants of St. Stephen's alias North Sassafras Parish, in Cecil
County, praying leave to divide the Parish, after the Death or Re-
moval of the present Incumbent.
