The House met according to Adjournment
All Members appeared as Yesterday except Mr Philip Hammond,
Mr Pearce and Mr Brome
Samuel Chamberlain Esqr from the Upper House delivers
Mr Speaker A Petition of the Freeholders of Baltimore Town pray-
ing Leave to enlarge their Town and build A Bridge over Jones's
Falls: A Petition of the Inhabitants of Prince Georges County
praying Leave to bring in a Bill to divide their County and A Peti-
tion of Saint Paul's Parish in Baltimore County to raise a Sum
of Money to build A Chappel of Ease
James Harris Esqr delivers Mr Speaker A Bill entituled An Act
to revive An Act of Assembly of this Province Entituled An Act
for the better Relief of Poor Debtors; Indorsed (See page 279)
Which Bill was Read and Passed for Ingrossing
The House Adjourns until 2 of the Clock in the afternoon

Mr Smith from the Committee of Elections and Priviledges de-
livers Mr Speaker the following Report viz.
By the Committee of Elections and Priviledges October 8, 1742
Your Committee examined the Writs and inspected the several
Indentures of the Members returned to serve this Assembly do find
that the several Writs directed to the several Sheriffs of this Prov-
ince are duly returned
We likewise find that Mr James Waughop, Mr James Swann
Mr John Griffith and Mr Robert Chesley Members returned for
Saint Marys County are duly Elected
That Mr [Richard Gresham] Mr George Wilson Mr James Calder
and Mr John Gresham returned Members for Kent County are duly
Elected
That Doctor Charles Carroll Mr Philip Hammond Mr Henry Hall
and Mr [Thomas] Worthington returned Members for Ann Arundel
County are duly Elected
That Mr Walter Smith Mr James Weems, Mr Joseph Hall and
Mr John Brome returned Members for Calvert County are duly
Elected
That Mr Bayne Smallwood, Mr Richard Harrison, Mr William
Wilkinson and Mr Robert Yeates Members returned for Charles
County are duly Elected
That Mr Nicholas Goldsborough Mr Robert Lloyd Mr William
Thomas Mr John Goldsborough Members returned for Talbot County
are duly Elected
