Erecting a Town at a Place called Long Point on the West Side of
North East River in Cecil County; passed & sent by Col Gale

Coi Gale from the Committee appointed to inspect the Accounts
and proceedings of the Commrs of the Paper Currency Office brings
into the House the following Report

At a Committee of Both Houses appointed to inspect the Office
and Proceedings of the Commrs for emitting Bills of Credit
established by Act of Assembly. 26 Octor 1742

The honble Levin Gale Esqr of the Upper house

Col Thomas Colvill | of the
Captn Richd Caswall | Mr Grundy Pemberton | Lower
Captn Thomas Sheredine | Mr James Weemes | House

Who make Choice of the honble Levin Gale Esqr Chairman and
William Ghiselin Clerk, and agree to make the following Report
Your Committee have carefully inspected the State of the Office
for emitting the Paper Money, and find the same in good Order, and
that the Commrs or Trustees have closed their Account of the Iron
Chest to the 9th day of Septemr 1742. Ballance therein £5836: 5: 0 3/4
That there still remains in the Office unsigned Bills for £2078.. 1 5...0
Part of the 8999o£ Principal Stock which makes the whole Ballance
of the said Principal Stock not lent out or applied 7915:00:43/4
whereof £4795: 00: 3 is appropriated to particular Uses, and

3120:00: 1 3/4 remains unappropriated of the Principal Stock as by
the annexed Account appears.
Your Committee further signify that at the Desire of the Commrs
Your Committee did count over and see destroyed & burnt to Ashes
by the said Commrs the following torn and defaced Bills Viz. 45
Bills of 20s Each, 39 Bills of 15s Each, 124 Bills of 10s Each, 191
Bills of 5s Each, 200 Bills of 2s 6d Each, 625 Bills of Is 6d Each and
786 Bills of Is Each amounting in the whole to two hundred and
Ninety five Pounds three shillings and Six Pence
Your Committee further signify that there is no Return of an
Account from Mr Roger Matthews for the Money he received as
Agent for Baltimore County
