Provincial Court Proceedings, 1661. 595

James Bowlyn aged 25 yeares deposeth and sayth That in the
yeare 1655 M^rs Eltonhead had 3 whole Shares vpon her owne Ac-
compt, which Shares was sent for England ariseing to the Quantity
of sixteene hundred pounds of Tobacco p share And Returne made,
And as M^r Henry Meese informed me itt was sould for 4^d 1 p ^lb in
England in the yeare 1656 M^rs Eltonhead had alsoe three whole
Shares properly belonging to her selfe which Shares Amounted to
the Sume of Betweene 12 and fourteene hundred pounds of tobacco
a Share and further sayth that this was before W^m Eltonheads Es-
tate was appraysed.

he be at our next Provinciall Co^rt to be houlden att S^t Marys on the
second of December next to shew Cause if any he have, why the said
one Thousand pounds Sterling should not be leavyed vpon his Lands
Goods and Chatties, and to Marmaduke Snowe to whome the Right
of the said Abell is Conveyed as by deed from the s^d Abell to Jdith
Snowe, and from the s^d Jdith to the s^d Marmaduke appeareth be
delivered according to the force and Effect of the said two severall
Recognizances, and have yo^u there the names of those persons by
whome yo^u have made this knowne vnto Given att S^t Marys this
