To the hon^ble the Gou^r & Councell &c:

The humble Petⁿ of Daniel Clocker Sheweth That whereas M^r
Job Chandeler promised unto the Wife of yo^r Pet^r full & Consid-
erable satisfaction for the bringing M^r Ouerzees Wife to Bed, in her
lying in, & for yo^r Pet^rs Wifes Charges & paynes in tending the s^d M^rs
Ouerzees Child: As allso satisfaction for the s^d M^rs Ouerzees Coffin :
yo^r Pet^r humbly craueth Order for satisfaction, & shall eu^r pray.
Know all men by these p^ents that I Job Chandler of Charles
County in the prouince of Maryland, doe constitute & ordaine my
Welbeloued Brother Symon Ouerzee of S^t Maries County in the
prouince aboues^d Merch^t, to bee my true & lawfull Attorney in a
suite depending att the next prouinciall Court, betweene me the
aboues^d Chandler & Daniel Clocker & what my s^d Attorney shall doe
in the premisses I will allow, & [rati]fy, & confirme, as if I my selfe

Whereas John Washington of Westmerland County in Virginia
hath made Complaynt agst Edward Prescott merch^t, Accusing the s^d
Prescott of ffelony unto the Gouerno^r of this Prouince, Alleaging
how that hee the s^d Prescott hanged a Witch in his ship, as hee was
outwards bownd from England hither the last yeare. Vppon w^ch
Complaynt of the s^d Washington, the Gou^r caused the s^d Edward
Prescott to bee arrested; Taking Bond for his appearance att this
Prouinciall Court of 40000^l Tob, Gyuing moreouer notice to the s^d
Washington by letter of his proceedings therein, (a Copie of w^ch
Ire, w^th the s^d Washingtons answere thereto are as followeth).
