Read the Petition of Levin Hill a languishing Prisoner in Custody
of the Sheriff of Ann Arundell County praying an Act may pass for
his Relief, and also the Petition of Doctor Richard Hill of Ann
Arundel County praying an Act may pass in the Nature of a Letter
of License exempting him for five Years from all Arrests Attach-
ments or Other Disturbance on Account of any Debt or Debts by
him heretofore contracted; and also Read the Remonstrance of John
Tayloe of the Colony of Virginia Esqr desiring no Bill may pass in
favour of the said Richard or Levin Hill in Prejudice to the Debt
or Claim of him the Remonstrant, which Petitions and Remonstrance
being considered of; It is ordered that the Petition of Levin Hills be
referred to the Consideration of the Lower House of Assembly &
sent by George Plater Esqr and the House being divided in Opinion
relating to the Petition of Richard Hill, the said Petition is therefore
rejected

Adjourned till two of the Clock in the Afternoon

County praying severally that an Act may pass for their Relief,

Read the Petition of Richard Dorton a languishing Prisoner in
Ann Arundel County Goal, Referred to the Consideration of the
Lower House of Assembly & sent by George Plater Esqr
Read the Petition of Thomas Hayward of Somerset County
praying Leave to bring in a Bill to aid the Defects in the Execution
of Two Deeds of Bargain and sale signed and executed in the Name
of John Caldwell as Attorney in fact of John Smith of Sussex
County in the Territories of Pensilvania Husbandman and that the
same may be as valid to all Intents and Purposes as if the said John
Smith had signed & executed the same in his proper Person; Re-
ferred to the Consideration of the next Session of Assembly, and
ordered that the Petitioner give Notice to the Heir at Law that he
intends then to apply for Relief, and that the Petitioner bring Proof
to this House of such Notice being given
A Bill from the Lower House by Mrs Weemes and Hall Entituled
An Act impowering the Justices of Calvert County to repair the
Court house of that County by an Assesment on the Inhabitants
thereof thus Endorsed
