Post Merediem. The House met according to Adjournment
M^r George Wilson a member returned to serve for Kent County
appeared in the House This afternoon. M^r Thomas Smith and
M^r Hinson sent to the Upper House to see him qualified by taking
the several Oaths to the. Government required by Law, by signing
the said Oaths and by repeating and signing the Test.
A Bill entituled an Act for the more effectual Publication of the
Laws of this Province and for the encouragement of Jonas Green
of the City of Annapolis Printer, read the first time and ordered to
lye on the Table.
A Bill entituled an Act to enable the Justices of the Provincial
Court for the future to continue Causes when they see convenient
one Court longer than is already prescribed by Act of Assembly,
read the first time and ordered to lye on the Table.
Col Hammond from the Upper House delivers M^r Speaker the
Petitions of the Church- Wardens and Vestry men of S^t Johns
Parish in Baltimore County praying leave to bring in a Bill to raise
an Assessment on the Inhabitants of said Parish for the building
a Parsonage House upon the Glebe Land indorsed recommended
to the consideration of the Lower House of Assembly And the
Petitions of the Subscribers Inhabitants about the head of Potapscoe
River praying leave to bring in a Bill to erect a Town there indorsed
referred to the consideration of the Lower House of Assembly on
the question
The Bill entituled an Act continuing an Act of Assembly en-
tituled an Act for raising a Duty of 3^d p hh^d &c. referred for a fur-
ther Consideration on Thursday next.
The House adjourns untill to morrow morning at 9 of the Clock
