Assembly being met Col Hanson and Col Ward ordered to Acquaint
his Excellency the Governour Therewith
Benj^a Tasker Esq^r from the Upper House Acquaints M^r Speaker
the Governour requires The Attendance of the Members of the
Lower House of Assembly in the Council Chamber
M^r Speaker and the rest of the Members of this House went to
the Councell Chamber
The Governour Made the following Speech. (See page 104.)

Dulany and M^r Richard Francis Appointed to prepare an Address
to his Excellency on his Speech.
The Several Committees Appointed last Session are Continued
this Session
The House Adjourns untill to morrow morning at 9 of the Clock.

To His Excellency Samuel Ogle Esq^r Governour of Maryland
The Humble Address of the Lower House, of Assembly

May it Please your Excellency
We His Majesties most Dutifull and Loyal Subjects the repre-
sentatives of the Freemen of Maryland in Assembly Convened return
your Excellency our Most Humble and Hearty Thanks for your
Kind Speech at the Opening of this Session and for the Earlv Care
you have Taken to prevent the Exportation of Grain at a Time
when there is the greatest Probability of its being Scarce among
our Selves
We Acknowledge with the Deepest Sense of Gratitude your
Constant Care and Solicitude for the Welfare of the Inhabitants of
Maryland and Particularly Your Calling the Assembly Together at
this Time in order to make the most Effectuall Provision to prevent
so great a Calamity as the want of Bread.
We Shall not fail to do every Thing in our power in faithfullv
Discharging The Trust reposed in us for the Safety of the People
we represent wherein we Cannot but be greatly Encouraged by
the Assurance you have been pleased to give us of your Concurrence
on which assurance the whole Course of your Administration has
Taught us to rely with the greatest Confidence.
