To the Right Honoble the Lord Proprietary
The Humble Address of the Upper and Lower Houses of As-
sembly,

May it Please Your Lordship
Amongst our Sincere and hearty Endeavours for the Service &
releif of the Province, under our unhappy Circumstances Wee have
agreed upon the terms, and Substantial Parts of a Bill for Emiting
and making Current Ninety Thousand pounds Current money of
Maryland in Bills of Credit to be Established upon a Sinking fund
which fund for its better Security, and the greater Credit & Reputa-
tion of the Currency must be necessarily put under the Management
of some persons in London
And for the Just and due Execution of such parts of the Bill as
Commit any Management to such Trustees, We presume to have
recourse to your Lordships kind and Tender Regard for the welfare
of this your Province, and we pray Your Lordship would be pleased
to permit your Name to be Incerted in our Bill; And that we may
have the Honour and pleasure of Relying on the good Success of our
Scheme, by Your Lordships Condescention of taking upon yourselfe
the trouble of a Superintendency & Controll over the Trustees in
London in such manner as may best Conduce to the Safety of the
fund proposed by our bill, and Shew our greatest Confidence in
your Protection of it.
