Thursday Morning 8 April 1736
This house met again according to Adjournment
Present as yesterday
Seven Engrossed Bills from the Lower house by Mrs Hooper and
Sprigg One Entituled An Act for Erecting a Town in Kent County
on the South side of Sassafras River on a tract of Land called
Tolechester at the Place where the ferry is now kept,
2d An Act Enabling the Commrs or Trustees of the Paper Cur-
rency Office to pay to the Representatives of several Counties the
sum of five hundred Pounds Each.
3d A Supplementary Act to an Act Entituled an Act for the Tryal
of all Matters of fact in the Counties where they have arisen or shall
arise the Continuance of Causes in the Provincial Court & Adjourn-
ment of that Court and for continuing the same.
4. An Act to alter the time for holding the Assizes and Provincial
Courts and to appoint the sd Courts to be held at the times therein
mentioned.
5. An Act for the further Assesment of twenty thousand Pounds
of Tobacco on the taxable Inhabitants of Durham Parish in Charles
County to be applied to the finishing of a new Church in the said
Parish already begun to be built
6. An Act to prevent the false packing of Tobo and concerning
the Tare of Tobacco hogsheads
7. An Act for building a Publick Goal in Annapolis, severally
thus subscribed
8 April 1736
Read and assented by the Lower house of Assembly

Which were read and assented to by this house & Ordered to be
severally subscribed, the Paper Bills so Endorsed are sent to the
Lower house by Col Hammond
A Message from the Lower house with the Journal of Accounts
by Mr King and four Others

Howard Esqr touching Allowances to you as a Council of State
sent us with the Journal of Accounts, having many Years since been
debated and rested under a great Length of time This house cannot
