Instead of the preamble therein mentioned Insert the following one
Whereas many Persons by the Necessary Charge of a Numerous
ffamily or by Inevitable Losses or Misfortunes deserving the Com-
passion of Mankind become Incapable of paying their whole Debts,
and the willing to make the utmost Satisfaction they Can may be
Detained in prison by their too Rigid and Severe Creditors; For
Relief therefore of such unhappy Debtors Page 1st in the 14th Line,
put the Word such instead of, any and in 16th Line of the same Page
between, Quorum and Debts, put such instead of any p. 2d L. 13th
after the Word therewith put the words (and that the Poverty and
Inability of such Debtor, rather proceeded from some of the Causes
aforesaid, than from Extravagance, and Vicious Course of Life, or
Knavish Practices)
2d p. 2d L. 3d after the Words Imprisonment Fees, put these words
(for the present; but the Sheriff or Coroner shall be paid such fees
out of what shall Arise by the Servitude of such Prisoner, if Sold,
preferable to any other Creditor
The whole Provisoe in the same Page to be left out p. 3d L 9th
Instead of the Word, and put these Words, Be it therefore Enacted
by the Authority aforesaid, by and with the Advice and Consent
aforesaid that such prisoner p. 4th L. 13 Leave out the Word, that,
and Insert, after which proceedings and Oath so had and made
p. 6th L. 3. after the Words, meet, insert the following Words,
(after which Assignment and Conveyance, it shall and may be Law-
full to and for the said Justices in Case it Appears to them, that the
poverty and Inability of such prisoners proceeded rather from the
Courses mentioned in the Preamble, than Extravagant and Vicious
Courses of Life or Knavish practices by Warrant under their hands
and Seals, to direct the said Sheriff to Discharge such prisoner or
prisoners, which said Sheriff shall forthwith accordingly discharge
the same from his Custody, L. ioth after the Word, Prescribed, put,
Be it therefore Enacted by the Authority aforesaid, by and with the
Advice and Consent aforesaid
P: 7th L. 2d after the word meet, insert the following Words (after
which Assignment and Conveyance, it shall and may be Lawfull to
and for the said Justices, in Case it Appears to them that the poverty
and Inability of such prisoners proceeded rather from the Courses
mentioned in the Preamble than Extravagant and Vicious Courses of
Life or Knavish practices by Warrant under their hands and Scales
to direct the said Sheriffe to Discharge such prisoner or prisoners,
which said Sheriffe shall forthwith discharge the Same from his
Custody
And be it further Enacted by the Authority aforesaid, by and with
the Advice and Consent aforesaid that all and Every the Estate Real
! or Personal of such Prisoners, or Every Sume or Sumes of money
