ffreehold and that the Conditions of the said Act of Assembly had
not been Complyed with.
Whereas Likewise it Appears to this present Generall Assembly
that the said Robert Gordon hath made the sd Johnsons Widow
Compensation for what Expence the sd Johnson was at in the Im-
provement made by him on the sd ground & that she hath relinquished
her right in favour of the sd Robert Gordon & that the Conditions
afd were not Complyed with.
As Also for that the sd Robert Gordon is possest of a tenement of
Land Contiguous & Bounding with the said parcell of Land laid out
for the sd Robert Johnson deced And therefore that the afd one hun-
dred & twenty feet of ground might be Confirmed to him the sd
Robert Gordon his heirs and Assignes for ever by An Act to be past
in his favour haveing Set forth in his petition that he would build
a dwelling house & Ship Yard on the same.
Be it Therefore Enacted By his Lordship The Right Honourable
the Lord Propry By and with the Advice & Consent of his Lordships
Governeur & the Upper & Lower houses of Assembly of this Prov-
ince & the Authority of the same that the same Robert Gordon his
heirs & Assignes for ever shall be & they hereby are Vested in a good
Sure Indefeazable Estate of Inheritance in fee Simple of in & unto
the aforesd Quantity of one hundred & twenty feet of Land in length
along Prince Georges Street at the Upper end of the said Lott with
the whole Breadth thereof with the Creek any Law Custom or Usage
to the Contrary Notwithstanding. Provided always that if the said
Robert Gordon his heirs or Assignes shall apply the said parcell
of the Lott of ground afd to any other use then that of a Ship Car-

penters Yard (Except necessary buildings for that Service) and
shall Neglect to carry on the business of a Ship Wright for the Space
of twelve months Together and pay the Proprietor the proportionable
part of the Assessment thereon & also pay to the Corporation of
Annapolis five Shillg Currt money Annually for the ground rent
thereof within two months after reasonable request made that then
it shall & may be Lawfull for the sd Corporation into the aforesd
parcell or Lot of ground to reenter.
And Whereas Likewise the said Robert Gordon by his Petition
haveing set forth that there is a Sancl Bank that intersects a tenement
of Land of his & the Creek Between the Bounded Poplar tree
Standing on the North East side of Nicholson Cove & another
Poplar tree standing on the South side of sd Cove that the same Bank
lyes without the lines of the sd Nicholsons Cove within the Water
Mark & not included within any Lot of the City which with Industry
and pains can admitt of some Improvements for a Landing for
himself & for the sd Good of the Publick and that the same might
be Confirmed to him and his heirs and Assignes for ever By an Act
of Assembly to be past in his favour.
