This House met Again According to Adjournment.
Present as on Saturday except Col. Tilghman
His Excellency is pleased to deliver to this House a paper in the
following words

Gentlemen.
I am firmly perswaded that His Lordship and the Country aim at
the same thing in Relation to the Oath of Judge or Justice the end
of both being the Safety of the People and the Security of their
Liberty and Property, tho' they may seem to Differ a little in the
meanes, which Difference Appears to me not so Considerable but that
it may be easily recommended to the Mutual Satisfaction of His
Lordship & His Tenants; I now lay before you the form of an Oath
proposed by his Lordship and if that form be not Agreeable to both
Houses, I desire their Joynt Assistance in representing such Neces-
sary alterations to his Lordship as may take in the sence of all parties
which I hope will be no hard matter to Effect; And I faithfully
