Sent to the Upper House by Mr John Magruder & Cap" Edward
Sprigg, Who return & say they Delivered the Same.
The Petition of Kennith Mackenny referred from the last Session
of Assembly this day read & Rejected.
A motion being made that a bill be brought in to prevent the
Clandestine running of Trashy Tobacco from Virginia and to Dis-
troy Trashy Tobacco in Maryland
The Question was put whether a bill shall be brought in to prevent
the Importation of Trashy Tobacco from Virginia into this Province
and to Distroy Trashy Tobacco in Maryland Carried in the Af-
firmative.

Phillip Lee Esqr from the Upper House Delivers Mr Speaker the
Bill Empowering The Justices of Calvert County to Levy on the
Taxable persons of that County any Sum of Tobacco not Exceeding
Ten thousand Pounds of Tobacco to pay for the finishing the Court
House of the County thus Endorst,

By the Upper House of Assembly 16th July 1731
Read the first time & Ordered to Lye on the Table.

Absent Members that they are wanted in the House.
Benjamin Tasker Esqr from the Upper house delivers Mr Speaker
the Bill for the Continuance of Process in Baltemore County Court
thus Indorsed.
