to Answer for his Default therein. And also against the
Sherriff of Talbott County for not returning the Writt of
Election to him Directed whereon Mr Wm Clayton was Chosen.
On Reading the Petition of Marine Duvall Leave is given
him to bring in a Bill for his reliefe according to the prayer
of his Petition.
The Petition of the Inhabitants of Baltemore County is
read & rejected.
The Petition of Nehemiah & Anthony Lecompt is read and
referred till the next Session.
The Petition of James Gladston and Mehitable Pierpoint
is referred till Tuesday noon for Hearing.

The Petition of Jno Maccubbin praying to be relieved against
a Decree made by the Land Commissioners of Ann Arundel
County in favour of Samuel Young Esqrs was read.
And the Question was put whether the same should be
rejected or Referred.
Carry'd by Majority of Votes that it be Referred Where-
upon the same is referr'd Till Tuesday next, and Ordered
that Collo Young have Notice thereof.

The House Adjourns till to Morrow Morning nine of the
Clock.

Saturday Morning October the 15th 1720.

The House meet according to Adjournmt present as Yester-
day. Yesterdays Proceedings Read. The Petition of Francis
Barney praying to be Relieved against a Certain Jno Salisbury
and Mary his Wife was Read & Referred till the next Sessions.
And Order'd that all Persons Concerned have notice.
The Motion being made and the Question being put whether
the Act Prohibitting the Importation of Bread, Beer, Flower
&c. Should be Repealed or not. It was Carried in the Affirma-
tive, and Ordered that the Committee of Laws prepare a Bill
for the repeale thereof. Ordered that the Following Message
be prepared vizt:

By the Lower House of Assembly Octobr the 15th 1720
May it please yor Honrs
In Answer to your Message of this Day by Tho: Bordley
and James Bowles Esqrs on the Act to Limitt the Continuance
of Actions &c. This House having Examined into that Law
cant perceive any Inconveniences to Attend it: but if any
their be (as Your House hath Observed) wee Desire you'll
Communicate them to us, that we Likewise may Consider
